OUR STORY

Firestone Enterprises was formed in 1987 as a trucking company. As the business developed, they expanded into farming and property management. Firestone Enterprises started growing sweet corn for the regional market. The family then put most of their efforts into the farming business. The sweet corn business gave way to growing grains. Over the years as business changed, Firestone Enterprises had grown to be farming over 800 acres. Jay’s son, Kurt Firestone, worked on the farm while he was growing up. Kurt knew what working hard meant. Working on the farm taught Kurt several things that would shape his life for the future. Kurt had the opportunity to learn how to use the equipment they had on the farm. During his younger years he knew he wanted to be an equipment operator. After graduating high school, Kurt entered The International Union of Operating Engineers. Kurt started working in the pipeline industry at an entry level position, and then eventually got the chance to be an operator. After a few years on the pipeline, Kurt realized the growth that was happening in the Marcellus Shale region where he lived. He believed he could do this better, faster, and more cost effective based on the experience he had in the industry.

With his experience working on the farm, and now the pipeline, Kurt decided to start Firestone Energy Services with the support of his family and Firestone Enterprises. In the fall of 2018 he received his chance to be a sub-contractor for a major pipeline construction company. The company quickly changed with the everyday needs on the pipeline. Since then Kurt has tried to surround himself with people that have the same work ethic and values he learned growing up on the farm. Firestone Energy Services implemented bringing on a full time Superintendent, Safety Coordinator, and Project Manager, all with the same core values, beliefs, and experiences. Together, with Kurt and the Firestone family, a great team has been formed. Firestone Energy Services now takes on projects as a sub-contractor as well as being the General Contractor for some of the biggest names of the oil and gas business.
